The San Diego CIF Football Championships were a big hit, drawing 14,827 people to seven games at Snapdragon Stadium, Escondido High and Southwestern College.The biggest draw was an estimated 6,200 for the Open Division championship game between No. 1 Lincoln and No. 2 Carlsbad at Snapdragon Stadium.The game was played on a Friday night, opposite semifinal playoff games in all the other divisions.CIF officials had hoped to have the Open Division on a Saturday night in Snapdragon, but were told there was a music festival there on that Saturday.
